In addition to its ultra-telephoto capabilities, the lens is well-suited for macro photography as well. With a minimum focusing distance of just 9.8″ at the 50mm end, the 50-400mm provides up to one-half life-size magnification for closeup shooting.

The VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor focus mechanism delivers fast, quiet, and precise autofocus.

For staying up-to-date and customizing your lens for maximum performance, the lens features a USB Type-C connector port for Tamron Lens Utility software, which enables you to customize functions and update the firmware for the lens by using a computer.

ND4 Filter
This neutral density 0.6 filter enables a two stop increase in exposure. It darkens the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. Neutral density filters do not affect the overall coloration of the image.
UV Filter

Circular Polarizing Filter
The circular polarizing filter helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. This results in a noticeable increase in the saturation of skies and foliage, as well as clearer imagery when photographing in hazy conditions. A circular polarizer differs from a linear polarizer in that it supports full use of a camera’s autofocus and auto exposure functions.
