Ninja TX combines SDI and HDMI inputs and outputs, Apple ProRes/RAW recording to ultra-fast CFexpress or external USB media, with a full suite of professional monitoring tools. It features built-in camera-to-cloud with free ATOMOSphere membership, supports NDI 6 streaming, and runs on the lightning-fast AtomOS Linux platform. No other monitor-recorder packs so much performance and compatibility into such a compact, connected device.
Ninja TXs 1500 nit screen is now 50% brighter, and is packed with pro monitoring features like EL Zone false color, focus peaking, waveform, RGB parade, vectorscope and more! All Ninja models feature the Atomos OS combined with the 5-inch touchscreen interface to give you far more control of your shot, and displaying more detail than your cameras built-in display.
Atomos invented the concept of a monitor that also records to high capacity, inexpensive removable media. Ninja and Ninja Ultra use removable SSD Drives*, and now with Ninja TX you can choose to record on either CFexpress* or an external hard drive* with high-speed USB-C connection. Now you have even more recording media options!
*Storage media purchased separately. Minimum performance / certification requirements apply
Ninja TX comes with everything included for Wi-Fi cloud connectivity, including 20GB of free ATOMOSPHERE storage and the ability to share footage with anyone, anywhere. Just as with Ninja or Ninja Ultra (fitted with Atomos Connect), you can upload directly to camera to cloud platforms like frame.io and Dropbox, or transmit and receive NDI 6 / HX3 streams.
Many professional filmmakers rely on their Ninja to give them pristine RAW video direct from the camera sensor. Unlike many cameras, Ninja can record for hours, not minutes. And all Ninja come with an array of professional monitoring tools that help you really nail the perfect shot.
Without timecode synchronization, manually adjusting footage and audio sources can be an arduous and time-consuming process. With AirGlu timecode sync over RF or Bluetooth built-in to Ninja TX, you can frame-accurately sync not just your monitor-recorders, but compatible recording devices too.
Ninja is lightweight and portable, perfect for content creators on the go. Its extensive monitoring tools include many different industry-standard frame guides that make it easy to compose your footage for different social channels, without having to reset and re-frame.
Ninja set the benchmark for 5-inch, HDMI monitor-recorders. Ninja TX raises the bar.
Ninja TX takes performance to the next level with support for high-speed CFexpress Type B cards (sold separately). This cutting-edge media format gives you faster read/write speeds, higher resolutions, and more reliable recording ideal for demanding workflows up to ProRes RAW 8K30p.
Ninja TX expands its professional versatility with the addition of 12G-SDI input and output, complementing its existing HDMI 2.0 connections. Having both SDI and HDMI built in supports a wider range of cameras and production workflows. SDI also enables long cable runs, making the Ninja TX a reliable hub in multicam, on-location, or studio workflows.
Ninja TX has two USB-C ports, opening the door to the directly attachment of external storage media, and monitor calibration. Its a future-ready addition designed to keep pace with evolving content creation needs.
Atomos has developed a unique and rugged locking ecosystem to maintain a secure grip on connected HDMI and USB-C cables. Ninja TX comes with special brackets to facilitate this, and a USB-C locking cable. With Atomos locking cables you get the most robust cable system available today.
The Ninja series supports a wide range of resolutions and frame rates, depending on the output of your camera: up to 120fps at HD resolution, up to 60fps at 4K UHD/DCI and up to 30fps at 8K UHD/DCI resolution. Shooting in higher frame rates is typically used for slow motion playback or fast action scenes.
All Ninjas come with Apple ProRes, Avid DNx and H.265/H.264 pre-activated, so you can start shooting immediately with the codec best suited to your project. Ninja TX also includes NDI 6 / HX3 as standard, which is a separate purchase for Ninja and Ninja Ultra.
All Atomos monitor-recorders support a wide variety of LOG profiles from the most popular camera manufacturers, including Sony, Canon, Panasonic, Nikon, Fujifilm, ARRI, and RED. Being able to work with LOG profiles allows for greater dynamic range and more flexibility in color grading during post-production.
The Ninja range offers a comprehensive suite of simple, one-touch monitoring tools for focus, framing, and exposure, including focus peaking, zoom (2:1, 1:1), zebras, false color (including ARRI and EL Zone), frame guides, SMPTE safe areas, grid markers, waveforms, an RGB parade, vectorscope, and flexible 3D/1D LUT support with profile and preset options (including .cube file uploads). Additionally, Ninja provides anamorphic de-squeeze monitoring to correct the ratio for anamorphic lens setups.
All Ninja monitor-recorders support EL Zone, a professional false color exposure tool that helps you see exactly how bright or dark different parts of your image are. Unlike traditional false color systems that use rough IRE ranges, EL Zone assigns specific colors to exact exposure valuesbased on stops of light, in the same way your camera sees exposure. Its a precise and consistent way to expose your image correctly every time.
Ninja receives LOG signals from the camera and offers real-time LUT (Look-Up Table) preview to approximate what the final graded image will look like in Rec.709 all while recording in high-quality ProRes, DNxHR, or ProRes RAW. Custom LUTs (.cube files) can be loaded from the CFexpress card or SSD and used in conjunction with the Ninjas built-in monitoring tools for precise exposure control.
All Ninjas have a 5-inch, 10-bit HDR/SDR touchscreen display. Ninja and Ninja Ultra have 1000 nits of brightness, while Ninja TX has 1500 nits of brightness. All Ninja screens are viewable in direct sunlight and sun hoods are available as a separate purchase for extreme conditions.
You can view 10+ stops of dynamic range from a LOG/PQ/HLG signal. Ninjas unique HDR monitoring features help you simplify the complexities of shooting LOG and HDR, because it is possible to replicate post-production workflows when it matters most while you are shooting.
Calibration is the key to a trustworthy monitor. Ninjas can be calibrated with Calibrite Display Pro HL / Plus HL probe, and using the Atomos Calibrator app, for ongoing accurate HDR and Rec.709 monitoring. Accurate monitoring ensures reliable results.
Wireless connectivity is integrated into Ninja TX. Atomos Connect module required for Ninja, and Ninja Ultra (purchased separately)
Camera to Cloud (C2C) is a revolutionary new workflow that allows you to upload your video files directly from your Atomos monitor-recorder to the cloud, right from wherever youre shooting. Theres no time lost transporting and copying drives. Ninja TX has everything you need to do C2C built in, for Ninja and Ninja Ultra you need to add Atomos Connect, purchased separately. Atomos supports direct upload to our own cloud platform ATOMOSphere as well as third-party platforms, including Frame.io and Dropbox.
NDI is a way to send and receive video over ordinary networks (including Wi-Fi and mobile) in high quality, but with remarkably low bandwidth requirements. Its increasingly used in live production and events. Any Ninja can be fully integrated into an NDI environment, either as an NDI source, visible to all other authorized devices on the network, or as an NDI receiver, with all the monitoring functionality you expect from an Atomos device.
NDI is included as standard with Ninja TX. For Ninja and Ninja Ultra it can be purchased from my.atomos.com (requires Atomos Connect).
Timecode is a unique digital timestamp assigned to each frame of video. It ensures that all your devicescameras, audio recorders, and monitorsare in perfect sync. Ninja TX includes AirGlu timecode sync over RF or Bluetooth to act as a powerful timecode hub. For Ninja, and Ninja Ultra an Atomos Connect module is required (purchased separately).
Record full-quality ProRes RAW up to 4K 60p while simultaneously recording HD 60p in H.265. Its the best of both worlds. Craft your edit with the H.265 proxy files. If thats good enough quality for social media, send it out. If not, autoconfirm with the ProRes RAW master files for grading and finishing in post production.
Automatically match filenames, timecode and record triggers from ARRI, Canon, RED and Sony cameras over SDI, or the Nikon Z9 over HDMI. Matching back to the original in-camera (OCF) filenames makes a autoconforming proxy files a breeze.
Segment/split long recordings into smaller, user-defined chunks, all without dropping a frame. With SegmentPro you can fit your files into any workflow. Its easier to share smaller files, and safer too: if you lose a big file, youve lost everything. Working with smaller files minimizes this risk.
