The base plate is designed to be quick release plate style, which can be mounted directly on the quick release (QR) clamp of tripod. There are -20 & 3/8-16 threads on the base of the bracket for attaching to non-camera heads and adapters. In addition there are two -20 threaded holes on the stem of the bracket which can be used to store protective caps from your binoculars.
